Hey guys! It's Liz reporting in with The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo).
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is my FAVORITE ALL TIME SHOUJO MOVIE EVER, HANDS DOWN! The plot revolves around the main character, Makoto, and the choices that she makes with her newfound ability to time leap. Makoto is a tomboy girl with two guy friends, Chiaki and Kousuke. Chiaki is the typical "tough guy" and Kousuke is the typical "smart guy". Now, in the beginning of the movie, Makoto is having a BAD DAY. First off, she's late to scool, THEN there's a pop quiz. After that, she burns part of her hair in home ec. and she gets pushed down by a couple of guys. After school is over, she goes into the science room and sees a message on the chalkboard saying: "Time Waits For No One", then she sees a little device mechanism about the size of a quarter and falls on it- doing so causes her to leap through time! On the way home riding her bike, she was fated to die in a collision accident with a train!! BUT! she was able to time leap back to before that happened without even realizing it! However, she doesn't know this but her time leaps are limited to a number on her arm- she finds out later in the movie, but in the beginning, she believes that she has unlimited time leaps-which isn't true. Later on throughout the movie, Makoto uses her ability to time leap to prevent personal mistakes and to alter the lives around her. Doing so has fatal consequences that she will have yet to learn. This movie has an important lesson to it and it is such a heartwarming story about friendship, and how bonds can last forever through time. I would give this movie an OVER 9000/10 and recommend it to ANYONE :D
-i also get a kick outta when she time travels back in time to get pudding XD
there are very touching scenes in this movie and it is truly a wonderful experience-
